City in Central British Columbia at the confluence of the North Thompson and South Thompson Rivers. Population (2001 Census): 77,281.

Major Kamloops-area industries include primary resource processing (pulp mill, copper mine, ranching) as well as tertiary services (provincial lottery headquarters).

Climate
While situated in an arid, almost desert-like valley, Kamloops winters are generally cold and often wet. Snow is common from October to March.
