Shimonoseki
Shimonoseki (下関市; -shi) is a city located in Yamaguchi, Japan.
As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 249,147 and the density of 1,111.82 persons per km². The total area is 224.09 km².
The city was founded on April 1, 1889.
