Zu Chongzhi

Zu Chongzhi (祖沖之, pinyin Zhu3 Chong1Zhi1) (425-500) was a Chinese mathematician and astronomer during the Qi Dynasty (of the Southern Dynasties).

His achievements included the Daming calendar introduced in 465 and deriving two approximations of Pi, 3.14156 and 22/7.
